Cranes and Ducks

Was able to spend a little time outdoors today after work and appointments with my dad, and as usual I spent some time in my favorite hang out down at the Arboretum.



I finally got to see both of the Sandhill Cranes at the nest today down at the wetlands boardwalk.

I also got a brief look at a new visitor to the pond, although I know i've seen it at least one other time down at Teal Pond, it's just that it never seems to want to come up to the other end.

This certainly is not the greatest photo, but so far this guy and his mate have been real hard to get a closer look at. - I'm not sure if they have a nest down there or not, but I guess that if we see chicks sometime soon, we will know.
